EyeGossip provides users with a points system thereby allowing them to have status amongst their peers in
the EyeGossip community. This is done by providing you with points - or EyeGossip currency - for every
contribution you make. In essence, we've created an online paparazzi game that simulates the real world. In this capacity, the more points
you rack, the higher your status.
Making a game out of the gossip contributions adds more fun, wouldn't you agree? We do. Try
the game by contributing your gossips and stories and see what you think. This is how you play the game...
- Posting gossip articles = 10 points
- Commenting on gossip articles = 3 points
- Voting on gossip articles = 1 point
BONUS POINTS:
When you post a gossip it gets voted on by your peers.
If your gossip (individual blog entry) gets a total of 20, 50, 100, or 500
(weighing positive votes as +1 and negative votes as -1) positive votes, you get bonus points as follows:
- Regular Gossip
- Bronze Gossip is total of 20 votes collected = 50 additional points
- Silver Gossip is total of 50 votes collected = 100 additional points
- Gold Gossip is total of 100 votes collected = 500 additional points
That means that if you write a story (individual blog entry) that obtains "Gold Bar" from the community,
you will receive a cumulative 650 points for that one story.
BEWARE:
EyeGossip is where users obtain points for their contributions thereby allowing themselves to have statuses
amongst their peers in the EyeGossip community. If you are caught cheating or spamming, your peers will vote
you (and/or your gossip articles) down, causing you to lose points. If you are a repeat offender, you will have
your points revoked. Each one of these negative votes you receive affects the validity of yourself and of your
gossips, as well as demeaning your status and reducing your points. If you are voted down substantially you will
be suspended from the site. Repeat offenders will be banned.
NEGATIVE POINTS:
Bad stories will be met with bad results. If you post an article the community does not like they are likely to vote it down.
If your gossip receives negative points it will be classified as "dirt gossip" and you will lose points:
Keep in mind that there is a difference between a trashy story and a simply badly written story.
It's OK to post a well written story that criticizes a celebrity or finds fault with an issue;
just make sure to do a good job writing it.
Dirt Gossip is a negative vote total = 0 points for this story
